The Mother's Connection of the Farmington Valley
The Mothers’ Connection of the Farmington Valley provides a network for mothers and children to connect. We are a volunteer network of moms who plan outings for ourselves and other parents with young children and infants. To give you an example of the extent of our activities, our January 2010 calendar featured the following types of member-hosted events: 6 craft activities, 4 field trips to local attractions, 1 music event, 3 outdoor activities, 2 moms’ nights out, 3 all-purpose playdates, 2 seasonal activities, 1 book club meeting, as well as 8 community-sponsored events. We also have an average of 10 weekly playgroups that offer a bit more regular interaction with a smaller group of moms and children. Additionally, we offer our members a chance to get a break from their role as parents — with our mom's night out, discussion groups, or by volunteering to serve on the Board or various committees.
Our group utilizes BigTent, a private social networking website for our members. It has much to offer including: interactive discussion forum, member classifieds, activity calendar, photo sharing and more.
